                  There many bakeries in the Oahu island of Hawaii. Located in Kailua, Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop specializes in hot fried malasadas, sweet bread & potato bread. You will also get Portuguese bean soup & caldo verde soup. One can also find some non-Portuguese specialties like Russian tea cake with raspberry filling. CafE Laufer is situated in the Kaimuki area. Delicious deserts like the fruit flan, chocolate charlotte russe & Peach Melba are some of the delicacies that are served out here. This apart, pears Helen, apple tart, linzer tortes & Eclairs can also be tasted. Besides all these, a variety of soups, gourmet salads, sandwiches on different kinds of bread & fruit plates are also served at their coffee shop. Founded by Joc Miw in 1983, Champion Malasadas specializes in light malasadas, even though they also serve hot crossed buns along with orange, lemon, guava & chocolate chiffon cakes. Opened on Mokauea Street in 1959, Dee Lite Bakery specializes in chiffon in different flavors. The Kanoehe Bakery situated along the Kamehameha highway specializes in the Hawaiian-style bread pudding that is made out of the Portuguese sweet bread apart from other baked foods.

                       There are other bakeries as well. Leonard’s Bakery opened in 1952 has now become of the best-known bakeries of the world. Apart from serving a variety of Portuguese & non-Portuguese baked food, their malasadas coated with plain sugar or cinnamon sugar is a specialty. Malasadas with custard, guava paste, chocolate or haupia fillings are the best at Leonard’s. Opened on Liliha Street in 1950, Liliha Bakery serves out coco puffs that are filled with chocolate pudding iced with butter. The bean anpan that they serve is also very good. Freshly baked bread, doughnuts, pies & buns are very delicious at Love’s Bakery. Mary Catherine’s Bakery is famous for ordered cakes apart from chocolate decadence & carrot cakes. The fried apple pie available in three different flavors is the best at Napoleon’s Bakery. Last but not the least; Ted’s Bakery is well known for serving good breakfast, lunch & dinner. Their specialty is pies.
